Several local top clubs were reportedly exploring opportunities and presented proposals to land the highly talented local star attacker, Mogakolodi Ngele whose contract with Chippa United has elapsed. After over a decade serving in South Africa’s top tier, Premier Soccer League (PSL), Ngele is set for a return to the Botswana Football League (BFL) and reliable sources have told this publication that, a return to Township Rollers has been completed.

Gaborone United were admires of the player and were looking to add him to their star-studded arsenal ahead of CAF Champions League campaign, the mining clubs, Jwaneng Galaxy and Orapa United were also looking to land the mercurial attacker but Rollers have all but completed the deal on a reported two year contract.

Tsotso, as affectionatelly known by his legion of fans, trained with Mapalastina during his difficult last days at Mamelodi Sundowns after falling down the perking order of Coach Pitso Mosimane.

The player has always been keen to re-unite with his former club, a move which could possibly address their goals-shy attack.

Close source further shared that, he is currently training with the team since Tuesday and will be involved in making recommendations on how the team can strengthen the squad. At 32 years of age, Ngele’s close associates have revealed that the player felt it was the right time to return home where he will also have a chance to monitor his businesses closely.

“He has been training with Rollers, he loves the club and has agreed to sign a two year deal. There were other offers yes, but he loves Rollers and following their struggles last season, he feels he can help the team rediscover their top status in local football,” a close source to the player shared.

It is reported that one of the club’s top priority is to land a striker; close reports suggests that Mara Moloi’s name has been mentioned as a possible solution to bolster the attack of the team, in the wake of recent disastrous recruitment of international strikers at the club. The left-footed midfielder was signed by Chippa United ahead of the start of the DSTV Premiership, 2021/2022 season, reuniting with head coach Gavin Hunt who he worked with at Bidvest Wits and won the Premiership title in 2016/17 but things have not worked out for the two with Hunt shown the exit doors and Ngele struggling for game time.

Ngele was on loan to Wits from Sundowns at the time and played a key role in the Clever Boys' success. Ngele's career has not progressed so well after that season with Wits, having brief spells with SuperSport United, Black Leopards and Marumo Gallants (formerly Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila).

The 32-year-old was with Gallants for one season, playing 13 matches as the club avoided relegation and won the Nedbank Cup by beating his current club Chippa United in the final. Ahead of the current DSTV premiership season, Ngele was also assessed by Moroka Swallows but was unable to secure a deal with the Dube Birds.
