Former Holy Ghost and Notwane tactician, Oupa Kowa has agreed to a three year deal with the Lobatse based side, Extension Gunners.
This was confirmed by the newly elected youthful club chairman, Bruno Masisi who said they are delighted to have acquired the services of the veteran coach.
Kowa led Holy Ghost to their maiden appearance into Botswana Football League (BFL), but despite leading the side to their historic milestone, the club opted against extending his contract.
“We are delighted and excited to have signed one of the experienced coaches around, who has proved his worth in different assignments he has led. We agreed to a three (3) year deal and he met with the players on Tuesday and will officially be announced on Thursday,” Masisi shared.
Kowa’s imminent arrival at the Peleng Giants will further help them to argue their case to remain in the league as his qualification will enable the club to comply with coach related compliance manual of club licensing.
Kowa follows in the foot-steps of Wame Mokoke at the club, whom he also replaced when he took over at Holy Ghost.
He is expected to keep Phenyo Mongala as his assistant and start a rebuild of the club which has lost several of its key players in the current transfer window.
Top goal scorer, Kabelo Babusi has moved on for greener pastures and joined Jwaneng Galaxy, whilst 23 year old defender, Obusitswe Gabadise joined Masitaoka.
Baokeditswe Talane who was on loan from Gaborone United has signed at permanent deal at Orapa United.
He however, will have no short of experience in the dressing room, with senior players, Desire Bafana (41), Katlego Mothibi (37), Thato Bolweleng (31) and fan favourite midfield genius, Dirang Moloi (36), who are once again expected to lead the side.
