The body of a teenage boy was discovered lying lifeless beside the road by a passer-by in Letlhakane on Saturday.

The shell-shocked passer-by, immediately reported the incident to the police, as deceased was lying on a pool of blood, bruises on the face, with tiny pieces of broken windscreen on the scene.

According to Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu, his office is investigating a road accident that took place on Saturday along Francistown/Letlhakane road, about three kilometers from Letlhakane.

"Suspicions are that the teenage boy was hit by a car, as broken glasses of windscreen were all over the scene. The deceased also had bruises on the body," he explains.

The concerned police boss, Maphephu further said they are still searching for the vehicle that could have caused the accident. He also revealed that the teenage boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead upon arrival.

"We appeal to anyone who might have knowledge on what could have happened to contact Letlhakane Police," he said.
