Winky D to rock Francistown

Internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean reggae dancehall artist Wallace Chirumiko who goes by the stage name of Winky D is set to rock Francistown sports complex on the 18th of November 2016 alongside local acts including the newly wed DJ La Timmy.

It will remain to be seen as to whether the popular artist will be able to fill up the 26000 capacity stadium, which is known to become filled to the rafters only when Zebras play. Winky D is a creative musician who is well-known for his catchy and relevant lyrics. The judgement day music festival has raised hopes of fun in Ghetto looking at the fact that most of the international acts who tour the second city always hold their shows in dingy crowed nightclubs.

Apart from locals who have over the past years embraced Winky D’s music, thousands of Zimbabweans who reside in the country are expected to throng the stadium since Winky D is the darling of contemporary music in Zimbabwe.

Winky D has tirelessly worked his way to the top over the years. With the help of DJ Betto Kwekwe of Mbizo Creepers Records, he went into the recording studios and recorded his very first songs including Rasta and Head inna war and he went on to set the stage on fire with his electrifying stage presence. He has so far released five albums with many chart topping hits which have earned him fans across the world, as evidenced by his successful tours in the United Kingdom and South Africa, among others.

Winky D has also become the new icon of Zimbabwe urban/reggae music with nicknames like Big Man, King of Dancehall, Messi we reggae and the Truthsayer being attached to him. He has also collaborated with Oliver Mutukuzi in a couple of songs proving that he is a force to be reckoned with musically.

His current charts topping song Disappear in which he featured South Africa DJ Oskido has been pumping the airwaves and being played from all corners, from weddings, parties to bashes, and many revellers will not want to miss the opportunity to see this song and others being performed live as they dance until their shoe heels come off.
