Vee and Slizer bring the house down at MYESC re-launch bash

The National Stadium was packed to the rafters last week Friday when various artists entertained a largely youthful crowd at a night show following the Ministry of Youth, Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development re-branding exercise during the day.

Popular artists, Slizer and Vee wa Mampeezy stole the show with their electric performances that left the audience begging for more. The dancers’ use of the spacious stage and the elegant discotheque lights gave the whole showcase oomph that one could not help but appreciate. If the two artists dancers were competing, the judge of the night would have faced a real nightmare because they both gave their all especially as they displayed similar dance moves.

Slizer, who is currently working on her latest album, sampled most of her new songs, which the audience responded positively to. Although the sassy singer is known to be a live wire on stage, this time around her dancing was lukewarm. It was her dance crew who came to the party and dished out their best dance moves.

Slizer promised the revellers more. “This is just a tip of what we are busy cooking at the studio. We will be done soon and that is when I would show my dance moves like usual,” she said.

One of the MCs for the night, kwaito artist Mingo of Mozezuru hit fame showed a different side to him as he left the crowd in stitches with his jokes. He also performed a few of his songs and challenged Slizer to remind the crowd of her old songs.

The pin up boy of the local music industry, Vee, together with his honoured crew that included the popular Coming Soon, wrapped up the night with an unforgettable performance. The revellers were tittering on the edge of excitement as they opened circles and danced along happily.

Vee reminded the youth to identify their talent and follow their heart and pursue their passion. He also reminded them to always trust in God and work hard. “I am just an ordinary Mokgalagadi guy from Hukuntsi but look where God has placed me now. I was even nominated as a Metro Award winner in South Africa. Now, this is a calling to everyone else that God can place you above your imagination as long as you utilise your talents,” he said.
