Two Nigerian super stars to rock Gabz
Two prominent Nigerian musicians, Wizkid (born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) and Tekno (real name Augustine Miles Kelechi) will rock Gaborone in separate shows before the festive period. Wizkid is billed to perform here on December 2 at the Diamond City concert to be held at the University of Botswana stadium. He will perform alongside other celebrated artists such as Ringo Madlingozi and others.
The singer and songwriter who became the first Afro Pop artist to feature in the Guinness World Book of Records for his contribution on the hit song One dance. In 2009, he signed a record deal with Banky W’s records Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) and rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the song Holla at your boy from his debut studio album Superstar (2011).
In 2016, he garnered international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the global hit One Dance, which reached number one in 15 countries. His Nigerian counterpart Tekno of Diana fame is billed to rock Gaborone at Duma FM grounds on the 4th of November 2017. The 25 year-old’s hit track Diana has been dominating local radio play stations across Africa. Southern Africa as a whole.
Tekno Miles started his music career as the youngest member of the Made Men Music Group (Triple MG). Tekno has been playing the piano at the tender age of eight after his father who enrolled him at a music school where he learnt to play other instruments including drums and guitar.
