"TheQuing Diamond" bags esteemed ASFA nomination

One of the top players in the make-up industry, Tlhomamo Moje popularly known as ‘TheQuing Diamond’, continues to surge as an unconquerable force in a craft that only a few can successfully take on.

The make-up aficionado has made it into the shortlist of the annual Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFA) 2016 scheduled to take place in Uganda on the 9th December 2016.

Diamond is nominated under the ‘Make-up Artist of the year’ category in Southern Africa. The nomination was announced at a glamorous and intimate event held at Kampala Serena Hotel in Uganda last week. The lad finds himself in competition with some of the heavyweights of the glam industry in the southern region including famous celebrity make-up artists Vuyo Varoy, Lucoh Mhlongo, Clara Banx and Nthato Mashishi of South Africa.

Diamond took to social media to announce his nomination. “My people. We are nominated at the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards in Uganda, Celebrity Make-up Artiste of the year for SOUTHERN AFRICA..... Goosebump moment being in the same category with South Africa's game changers Clara Banx, Nthato Mashishi and Vuyo Varoy,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The lad deserves the entire platform he can get to let his highlight shimmer in the spotlight. Pun Intended. His technical creativity has seen him rise above, earning an elite clientele. From bridal parties to celebrities and figures of note, his artistic vision and work ethic have brought him to where he is now.
The business of beauty has always been considered as woman’s domain and it is very interesting to see this category where Diamond features, being dominated by males.

Unmindful of how tough the competition may be in this category, our local lad can very much hold his own in this game. Brush strokes at work, blushing, contouring, highlighting and primping, perfecting the smoky eye; he can take a human face and make it his lifetime canvas.

The continental awards, ASFA, were spearheaded to recognise fashion trailblazers that are steering the continent’s talent on the global fashion stage. The awards have been known for their ability to inspire, set trends and celebrate the global fashion agenda.

According to the organisers, the awards also recognise the talent and effort of the best designers, stylists and legends in the world of Fashion. The annual event is organised by the Abryanz Franchise that also includes other brands like the Abryanz Collection stores and the Abryanz Charity Foundation.
