The Word Live
A group of singers, dancers and poets came together in pursuit of one goal; to express their love for God through the creative talents they possess.
This Saturday, an event billed ‘The Word Live’ was held at Mantlwaneng.
The rainy weather did not dampen the spirit of the audience who patiently waited for the start while listening to worship music. The line-up included poets and artists like Juby Peacock, Drea, Mmakgosi Acapella Group, For God, First Love Band and the motswako group X-Caliber.
The evening started on a mellow note with singer Boineelo Baitseng singing a slow song while her dancer Tumisang Baatshwana supported her on stage.
After the singing Kushata Chilisa spoke of the importance of allowing God to purify you as a believer no matter how tough or painful the process is. In her sermon, she encouraged the audience not to give up too soon when they are faced with trials and challenges but to look to God for help.
The group ‘For God’ left the audience in awe after performing their two songs. The three young women sang acapella reminding the audience that instruments are not always needed to enhance a song. X-Caliber set the stage ablaze with their motswako offering.
Wearing white t-shirts, khakhi trousers and white sneakers along with gold chains around their necks they sang, tuner radio station ja monate, Jeso ke ene Morena a le one to the audience. When they left the stage, the MC for the night asked for an encore and they requested the audience to dance and sing along with them; which the audience happily obliged.
The night ended with a call for all people including the non-believers to be prayed for.
