The Gig Guide mobile App launched

Innovative entrepreneur Marang Sello, who rose to glory when he became the first Motswana to develop an Apple App, has now launched a new mobile application called ‘The Gig Guide’ which allows mobile users to carry Botswana’s biggest events guide in their pockets.

The App allows a user to track events, venues as well as get access to tickets and all the information relating to any particular event. According to Sello, The Gig Guide App taps into the Digital Age of advertising by allowing pretty much everyone to advertise their events from anywhere, anytime, and in a short space of time.

“This app accommodates everyone, from corporates, to Governments, small businesses, event promoters as well as individuals; this is undoubtedly an effective way of reaching out to the masses as everyone owns a smart-phone nowadays,” he said. He added that the app is quite convenient for urban dwellers. “This App offers so much more for people eager to find something fun to do but wouldn’t know where to go or which gig to attend.

This is a great tool for anyone to have on their phone. It will be a great digital companion to locals.” The App is coupled with a myriad of features. For example, users can easily submit their own events via the App for the Admin to approve. Users can also search gigs by name, city or country and can even open the event’s address on iOS Maps or alternatively locate GPS address using turn by turn navigation. The App also has a function which enables users to share events via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Mail and SMS.

From concerts, festivals, awards and gala dinners to wine tastings and conferences, there is really so much going on in the city and outside and this new app is your indispensible guide to the best of the good life. It was created to help locals as well as visitors to peruse the wide array of thrilling events popping up everywhere.

The App is available for download on the Apple App Store. Sello has also orchestrated the launch of Naija Radio App and Kenyan radio app in Nigeria and Kenya respectively. The buzz surrounding the applications is overwhelming as they continue to surge in popularity.
