The German Twins' Tropical getaway

Mombasa, a well known tropical paradise of white sandy beaches recently became a retreat for The German Twins - Mavis and Lydia - as they embraced Kenya’s second largest city through a mini holiday.

The Twins social media feeds got highlighted with a couple of shots that suggested the duo was up to something other than their well known gig on Botswana Television’s ‘Pula Power’ programme. A thorough exploration by this publication revealed that the pair was indeed soaked up in adventurous spirits which were enough to whisk them away to experience the tropical sunsets and exquisite sights of the city for a period of five nights.

From the shots, the twins appeared to be having a good time as they snapped a number of selfies either sunbathing or drinking cocktails under the sunset. Lydia German posted one of the photos to her Instagram followers with the caption, “Mombasa, Fun in the Sun, Twin goals.”

Mombasa is known for its relaxed pace of life and it is no surprise that the Germans sampled the good life at the gorgeous location. The twins stayed at The Leopard Beach Resort situated on Kenya’s South coast. The two have had an incredibly busy 2015.

Between their television gig at Pula Power and their commitment to school and other projects which included doing MC work at various concerts across the country, letting loose was only inevitable. The 22 year old duo looked beach body ready as they were draped in their bikinis, looking flawless and not resting on their style laurels even though they were officially not on duty.

Catching up with Mavis German she revealed that indeed they just got back from a holiday in Mombasa which she simply described as “Amaaazing!”  “We were there for a week and it was refreshing to take a break from everything,” she said.

Pula Power has gone for a brief break and Mavis says the second season of the entertainment show will return to our television screens end of February, with much broader and better content. Meanwhile she has a full time job as an Accountant while her twin sister Lydia recently graduated and she is taking a little breather.

The twins’ authenticity and talent have become their crowning glory. Their mark in the local entertainment industry is well visible and it is without qualms that they are destined for greater things. We however could not help but get jealous of their adventurous ‘Twincaetion’ in Mombasa as they would describe it.
