Stiger Sola's sister drops 10th studio album

Mayoress Mochankana, Stiger Sola’s sister who made headlines together with her guitarists brother in the 1990's has returned to the music industry after a long hiatus from the industry with her tenth studio album simply titled Khanga Oyizere a Siyeyi dialect which is loosely translated as watch out or be careful. Produced by Bullet Ketshabile, the album will remind music lovers of the yesteryears when their hit Kachire and Moruti o tshwenya bana ba Phuthego which went to win them music awards locally and in the neighbouring South Africa where they became instant hits and celebrated musicians.

In 2001 Mochankana, who now goes by the Mocha’s queen, has collaborated with her son who was born and raised under a family which adores music. Khanga oyizere which is a hit in its own, is a story about a wicked old woman called Mmamwere who used to bewitch and kill men who were attracted to her beautiful daughter Mwere. The wicked mother would lure her daughter's would be lovers before she cut off their manhood before roasting it in a large pot. On the other side of the village in the song, there lived another women who vowed to Mmamwere that her threes sons, Sexhakamemba, Motharamenze and Ogigiayakhemo were untouchables and hence Mmamwere should be careful with her luring tricks of castrating her daughter's suitors.

The song is a song and a half as it carries rich Setswana lines which will surely be loved by the borankana movement since it was produced by Botswana,s best Borankana producer who worked withprominent local groups including Dikakapa, Shumba Ratshega in Makhirikhiri and many others. Matakushemuna is a song carrying a message about children who neglect their parents once they have struck gold in their lives as they forget where they came from.

She mocks such children and reminds them in song that the same dirty looking Matakushemuna brought you to this earth and made them what they have become in the eyes of the society. Other songs in the album include Sinjelele, Love is a dream, Bua le tshipi tsa gago and a tribute to her mum. The album is a must have for those who love songs with catchy and funny message.
