Social butterflies pushing fashion limits

Another year is coming to a close and it is pretty fair to say 2015 was a year full of fashion madness and excitement. From award shows, celebrity birthday soirees, to lifestyle celebrations and music festivals, fashion seemed to be the most dominating factor, much thanks to the role players in our local entertainment circle.

Fashion itself is a reflection of social, economic, political and cultural changes. It expresses modernity, symbolising the spirit of the times. Fashion Boulevard takes a closer look at a few social butterflies and local trailblazers who have fully expressed themselves through their choice of outfits. From Berry’s high-thigh slits to Bouncy’s skimpy little numbers, it has been indeed a dramatic year.

Berry Heart is never the one to play by the rules when it comes to fashion. Her choice of outlandish and revealing outfits has made the ‘queen of controversy’ a socialite to look out for at every event in town. Heart’s outfits always tell a story.

From the gold and flambouyant ensemble she donned at Miss Botswana fashion show to the all-too-revealing black number that left little to the imagination at Miss Francistown event, Heart always ensures she makes eyes pop and jaws drop without even trying.

Bouncy the twerk queen recently caused a stir at the BOMU awards, largely due to her performance and outfit which was deemed ‘too sexy.’ The Hip Hop star oozes sex appeal and it is easy to realise that from the over-the-top ensembles she struts every-time she steps out and makes an appearance.

The ‘Walking Away’ hit-maker is never apologetic about her racy outfits which are always hotter than the devil’s underwear. On the other hand, PR maven, Mercy Thebe’s sense of style can never be overemphasised. Her stripped and settled yet elegant and relevant outfits have made her a fashion sweetheart on homeland.
