Reunited Culture Spears to rock GC...Charma Gal to be part of the traditional outfit
The leader of international acclaimed local traditional group Culture Spears Kabelo Mogwe says that the once-popular group has finally reunited and will go on tour soon. The group, which had bragging rights in Southern Africa split some years back following the divorce of its lead singer Mogwe and Magdeline ‘Charma Gal’ Lesolebe, which pained most of their fans as they believed that they were a match made in heaven.
As if that was not enough, funny man Ramuzara also quit the group to focus on his solo career. He has since retraced his footsteps back to the group. The other member who was also a vital member, Selonyana, was the first one to dump the group and the first one to resurface at the group last year for its impeding reunion.
Speaking to Vibe recently, an excited Mogwe revealed that during the past Christmas festivities, he toured with the other members except for Charma Gal who was not available due to some commitments. “I can confidently declare that finally Charma Gal will reunite with the group on the 2nd of March 2018 at Thebephatswa where revelers will be taken back into time. On the 9th of March, 2018, Culture Spears will rock Glen Valley BDF camp,” he said.
In the past years, Kabelo has refused to replace the departed members as he strongly believed that there were still members of Culture Spears who were mere exercising their democratic rights to go solo like it has always been the case with other prominent groups. When contacted in the past, the other members has revealed to VIBE that they were prepared to reunite at Culture Spears only if they can be managed by a board as they strongly believe that they are the cream of the local music industry.
Moreover, Charma Gal, Ramuzara, Kulenyane and Selonyana will remain solo artists but will only come together for the main group of Culture Spears. The group has toured countries including France, South Africa and Lesotho among others in the past. The group will be best remembered for their hits Khudu, Kueletsana and Kulenyane among many others.
