Reunited Culture Spears sizzle at BOPEU concert
This is it, we really missed this lady and we are hopeful that soon, the puzzle of the group would come to complete to give us our good music
There is still hope for the renowned Culture Spears traditional dance group, and the return of ‘Selonyana’ to the group has cheered a lot of people’s hearts. The recently reunited group left the audience begging for more recently, at the BOPEU cultural night. When the group took to the stage, everyone beamed in excitement, while also whispering that ‘She is back’.
Within the blink of an eye, the live performance began when the emotional lead singer Kabelo Mogwe kept recalling the good memories that the group enjoyed. The oomph of the group is still there and people appreciated it, even though they expected to see Charma Gal and Ramozara who are also initial members of the group, but they were not present. Selonyana has always been a dancer at heart when Culture Spears started back in the years, and she still humbled the audience with her dance moves. Said an impressed attendant: “This is it, we really missed this lady and we are hopeful that soon, the puzzle of the group would come to complete to give us our good music.”.
On the other hand, Mogwe also shared with the audience that he was glad that Culture Spears is coming back to life and noted that they have fans internationally and they also still need to see the group performing. They gave an elegant performance including a variety of their older songs such as Kulenyane, Ke tla aga motse le mang, Re babedi and the adored Selonyana among others.
The live band kept the audience lit throughout the show leaving them lingering for more. The group broke into the music industry with their first album dubbed ‘Korone’ and have scooped many awards over the years. Their music and videos have always been outstanding. The group endeared themselves to many music lovers, most of who were left heartbroken when the band disbanded a few years ago. But it seems like Culture Spear as we know it, is now back!
