Modelling agency holds auditions for Mr and Miss Youth Africa

A group of young Batswana behind Real Portion Modelling Agency will host auditions for the inaugural Mr and Miss Youth Africa beauty contest. The team that includes Ookeditse Tiny Magheto, Girly Thema Moganetsi, Khumoetsile Thekiso and Onalenna Ami, will take the pageant across the country, with the hope of unearthing talent and finding sponsors to assist them take the project across Africa.

The agency is focused on ramp modelling (fashion shows), photo shoots, photographic modelling, multi media and events coordination. In interview with Vibe, Ookeditse said that the agency is committed to youth empowerment. “We ant to uplift ambitious young Batswana who want to be leaders in their chosen fields.

The arts are growing and many youth are interested in using their talents to get ahead. We help groom them and accord them platforms to reach greater heights,” she said. Moganetsi said that they are passionate about fashion, modelling and unearthing new talent as well as youth empowerment. “We then decided to create a project that they enjoyed and would be possibly sustainable in the long-term,” she said.

They noted that they would travel across the country hosting auditions until the crowning early next year. The first audition will be held at Mogoditshane Community hall on the 7th October to cater for those in the city and surrounding areas, and then go to Lobatse on the 28th October, while dates for the Kanye and Jwaneng auditions will be communicated at a later date. Individuals aged between the ages 18 and 35 of any size and height, who love for modelling and are interested in youth development, are encouraged to take part. “Those interested are encouraged to come dressed in white tops and jeans,” Moganetsi said.
