Mlesho rocks Lesotho at Ultimate FM Awards

Hlomela hit maker Mlesho is back in the country following his successful performance in Maseru, Lesotho this past weekend where he performed at the Ultimate FM Awards.

Mlesho told VIBE that Ultimate FM management had witnessed the artist bagging the Song of the Year and Best kwaito kwasa artist gongs during the recent Botswana Musician Union (BOMU) awards in Gaborone and was impressed by him. He explained that after the awards, he was summoned by BOMU secretary general who informed him that the radio station’s entourage had invited him to Lesotho.

“We then started communicating and I signed a contract with them to perform. If it were not for the BOMU awards, I would not have been discovered by people from Lesotho.

I have another gig back in Lesotho for the Municipality of Maseru in the pipeline. I am currently sorting out the travel logistics and I am optimistic that come rain or sunshine I am heading back. The people there love my music,” he said.

Mlesho pointed out that apart from his electrifying performances and upbeat music, his advantage was that most Basotho understand Setswana, which is the language he uses in his music. The Ultimate FM awards were also graced by South African music heavyweights Robi Malinga and Motswako maestro Tuks Senganga.
