Masa Fashion Show gives upcoming fashion designers much-needed platform
The Masa Hotel held a press briefing for the Masa Fashion Show at the hotel this past Saturday. In the past few months, the fashion show campaign has been underway with a Fashion Mentorship Program, which was conceptualised to provide a platform for up coming members of the Botswana fashion industry. According to Masa Hotel Sales and marketing manager Neo Nketle, the programme was officially launched in February this year. “It is the first of its kind in Botswana to be hosted by a hotel. 12 more seasoned designers from the local industry are mentoring a total of 12 budding fashion designers.
This comes following 4 consecutive years of the Masa Fashion Show held to great acclaim, and with an increasingly strong attendance and revere from Batswana,” she said. Nketle further said that they launched the Masa Fashion Show campaign under the theme: ‘Working Together to Build Botswana’s Creative Industry.’ “Since our launch in March, the mentees have been hard at work designing their exclusive collections for the Masa Fashion Show. And these collections will be debuted on the runway at this year’s Masa Fashion Show,” she noted. The MSH Fashion Mentorship Program mentors are:
