Kingsushi to drop Stun the World EP at red carpet event

Innocent Mamadi, who goes by the stage name Kingsushi, will launch his six-track EP titled, ‘Stun The World’ in Selibe-Phikwe later in September. The 21-year-old who dubs his genre of music ‘Crowned Music’ - a fusion of trap and hip-hop, told Vibe that music is ‘an outburst of the soul’. He explained that his EP is characterised by different artists who contributed to the growth of his music career.

Kingsushi features artists such as Luzkat, Rez, Edison Matthews, Carisma, I’Luter and J Traxy. The Selibe-Phikwe born and raised Kingsushi shared that his love for music started in primary school. He further said that he and his closest brother listened to a lot of hip-hop and were inspired by renowned artists such as lyrically gifted Eminem and the legendary Tu Pac, as well as local artists Vee, Scar and LuzKt.

He noted that these artists inspire him to do well at his craft and work hard to become one of the best artists in Botswana. Kingsushi recorded his first studio track in 2014, with the then upcoming group Illest Crew, after they took part in a music competition hosted by Ofilwe Kegakilwe, called Street Calling Music Talent Search where they emerged finalists. He went on to record his first single track ‘Half Race Monster’ with 3o3 Records.

Some of the songs on the latest EP include Dizaka, which features LuzKat. He features Pablo Missions ft LuzKat and Edison Matthews, Look what I did, which features I’Luter, J Traxy and Edison Matthews, She’s tripping featuring Rez and True. ‘Getting it’ which was released three months ago as a single track is also part of the EP and features Carisma. Kingsushi noted that that the red carpet event launch of the EP dubbed Stun The World EP Launch & Independence Activation Party would be held Area 11 poolside in Selebi-Phikwe on September 29th and would feature an appearance by Khiring Khorong artist ATI.
