Gaone sets stage on fire at Mascom Kitsong Centre Awards

Sensational ‘Kopisa’ hit maker, Gaone Ranthoiwa enthralled the audience at the Masom Kitsong Centre Awards, this past weekend. Dressed to kill compete with sky high stilettos, the sassy singer gyrated to her hit song Kopisa with lots of energy, much to the audience’ delight.

Like the name of the song literally translates to, ‘hot’, the young and vibrant songstress set the stage on fire through her marvellous performance that left a lot of people amazed.

Her modern moves were fused with traditional dance routines when she shared with Mafitlhakgosi traditional troupe. The discotheque lights in the GICC, also blended so well with the performance and the traditional attire as well as Gaone’s stunning outfit that showed her off as an African queen. The audience was left begging for more when the act ended.

Said one impressed guest: “We have our own Beyonce in Botswana. Gaone really nailed it with confidence in her shoes. At some point I was scared that she would trip and fall but she proved that she knows her art.”

Even radio host and popular presenter of BTV Flava Dome, Loungo Pitse, who was the master of ceremonies for the night looked impressed and energised after the performance, which admittedly stole the attention on the night.

One of the award recipients, Badiredi Mokwena, told Vibe that the Kopisa performance would linger in his mind.  “Her music is quite unique, and her stage performance was very lively. I was impressed,” she said.
