F/town comedy show promises memorable night of rib cracking jokes & laughter
Francistown comedy lovers will be treated to a show dubbed Toenda ku turopo to be held at Digger’s Inn on the 25th May. The activation for the comedy show will be held from 10am-5pm, where fans will have a chance to take pictures with the comedians and also buy tickets to the show, before attending the gig at 7pm. This show is similar to Cracker Nights, which are popular on the Gaborone entertainment scene and take place at The Meeting Place at Cresta President’s Hotel every Tuesday night, where both established and upcoming comedians showcase their talent.
Comedian and organiser of the show, Bobo ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi, who will also host the show and share a few of his own jokes, will give other comedians five minutes on stage. The line-up includes Kago ‘Johnny’ Rannoba, Phaphama ‘Phaps’ Masalila, Chrispo Michaels and others.
Letsatsi explains that organising shows like this is one way of developing comedy talent in the country and cultivating an appreciation for the art among fans. “As a person who loves comedy, this is a way for me to cultivate the talent that I have identified during the Cracker nights,” he says.
Ribcracker notes that his main objective is to help grow the comedy industry in Botswana, which is why he tries to host comedy shows outside the country. “We hosted a comedy show in Maun last year and the reception was satisfactory. We want to reach to as many people across the country as possible,” he says.
Tickets to the show can be obtained at 71571504.
