DJ Twaza gives back to the community
Tlhwaafalang Tebogo, who is better known as DJ Twaza, has partnered with three local schools to offer his sound and performance services for free on a period of the next five years. The 25-year-old recently told Vibe that it is his way of giving back to the community and he would also be providing Excellence certificates that he has designed from his company, Twaza Multimedia’s Production. He explained that he would be doing these tasks at the annual prize giving ceremonies in Goo Semama Junior School in Goo Tau, Ratholo Primary School and L
erala Junior School. DJ Twaza further said that the music industry had been strengthened by the support from the community. He said it was now high time that musicians give back to the community. “We do not have to be seen as people who always strive to make profit only as artists but also give back. What actually inspired me to also extend my giving hand is the fact that my mother (may her soul rest in peace as she passed on last week) was such a Good Samaritan,” he said. He added that his mother had inculcated a spirit of perseverance and resilience within him.
DJ Twaza, who entered the music industry in 2013, noted that he would like to see artists giving back to the community as best as they can. “Giving is supposed to be genuine so let us help our society if we are already well established,” he said.
