DJ Ms Daisy on the rise

Local DJ Keletso Kabomo (21) who goes by the stage name Ms Daisy, is slowly becoming a household name in the hip-hop decks fraternity as she is constantly booked to light up corporate events. Ms Daisy has performed locally but is also making a name for herself in South Africa where recently performed. “I have met and played alongside international artists such as DJ Merlon, Prince Kaybee and Lerato Kganyago just to mention a few. My dream was to always travel the world and it is amazing that what I love doing (being a DJ) has already paved a way for me,” she said. But Ms Daisy’s journey as a DJ has not been entirely smooth sailing. In an interview this week, she told Vibe that she has faced her fair share of challenges. “I have had experienced so many obstacles from pending payments to no gigs and that was very frustrating but I kept on pushing hard. I never got discouraged and maybe that is why I am here now,” she said. Ms Daisy said she would never forget the support she has received from DJ Izzy, as well as her family and friends. “A big shout out to DJ Izzy for giving me a chance at the Next Best DJ Academy where I did fairly well. My family and friends have also shown me love and have been behind me all the way,” she said. Ms Daisy’s hard work is now paying off, as she is the only female Hip-Hop DJ who is nominated for the Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAS) on the best Hip-Hop DJ Category. The awards ceremony is slated for 2nd February 2019. Ms Daisy also noted that she also hopes to become a radio personality one day. “I love radio presenting and I wish to have my own mix show in any of the local radio station. Additionally, I also do production and I already have a single out and more will follow later this year already one single out more is bound to follow this year,” she said. Meanwhile, the lively Ms Daisy has landed a gig at Cigar Lounge and at Chez Nicholas where she plays every Friday.
