DJ Guyvos shoots video for Zumba in Zimbabwe
In the man’s own words, this is the story of how McGyver ‘DJ Guyvos’ Serero’s single, Zumba came about.
He was called to speak live on Zim FM after he was seen by one of the presenters during his days as DJ on BTV FLava Dome. Then Leeknotic who is also producer of the song, contacted him via social media so they could meet up and make a song together which they eventually did. It is this same song for which DJ Guyvos will travel this week to Zimbabwe to make its video.
According to him, the reception of the song by not only his fans but the music industry as a whole, has been extremely pleasing as shown by the many requests for its encore whenever he performs. The video will have clips of locations in both Botswana and Zimbabwe and will be directed by Pilot films from Zimbabwe. It will also be fully sponsored by Afro Platinum Music also from Zimbabwe.
Serero is ecstatic at this opportunity and feels that through Zumba he has achieved much more than he had anticipated because the song is a second single that he has released. But unlike the first one, he has gone all out with Zumba from performing it to making a video for it.
His intention in making the video is for it to be played not just on the home front but in other countries as well. He wants it to be played even in the African music channel, Channel O which in itself is going to influence how the video is packaged. For example, in one of the scenes he will be holding the flags of Angola, Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Zumba is a dance which GUYVOs says he formed on his own. After seeing him dance it, Leeknotic decided to give it the name Zumba. The single was released earlier this year and it features Leeknotic and TRP from Zimbabwe.
