Ame Makoba releases motivational CD

Former Deputy Executive Secretary of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Ame Makoba recently launched a motivational CD titled Refuse to Lose; Get Lifted. In the five-track album, Makoba talks about the challenges of life and what one must do to overcome them, and never lose hope. Speaking at the launch of the CD, Minister of Health and Wellness, Dorcas Makgatho encouraged youth like Makoba to share their life experiences in order to encourage others and be their role models.

“You are a determined young person and I have no doubt that as you venture into this new concept you will conquer the world. That self determination is very important and this is why I believe you will be very successful in your journey of changing life of Batswana,” she said. Makgato described Makoba as a visionary because he has identified a niche where others did not. “You have come up with a plan of how we can overcome challenges. Difficult as it is in the journey you are venturing in I am sure you are going to have fun with this.

This is very nice because you are doing something you like and you will make life out of it and encourage young people like you,” she said. In his emotional speech, Makoba who shared his life experience said after finishing his Botswana General Secondary Examinations (BGSE) several years ago, he was admitted to pursue Bachelor of Science in Canada but he failed three times. He switch to do Bachelor of Finance and passed with flying colours. “I was not the best student in class but came top of the class because I refuse to lose. I always knew it will get better,” he said. Makoba also thanked his wife who he said has been the pillar of strength for him. “We never know how long will God keep us. I am a positive person and I believe this should be shared with people. I believe people should live their life happy regardless of what challenges they are facing,” he added.
