Mascom’s innovative solutions
Mobile Money Manager, Nozizwe Tumelo says they are continually seeking ways to bridge the gap in financial inclusion to the unbanked customers.
The company introduced Myzaka Visa Card, which allows customers to make cash withdrawals at any local or international ATMs, pay for purchases at any point-of-sale (POS) terminal and make online payments at any merchant displaying the Visa sign.
Tumelo told The Midweek Sun that Mascom is committed to bringing affordable innovative solutions that bring convenience to Batswana. “We wanted to allow customers to be able to do what they want without limitation. They have more accessibility and flexibility,” said Tumelo.
The card also offers a virtual card feature, which is an online version of the chip-enabled card to allow customers to shop online. To get the card, Mascom subscribers are required to pay P35 for the physical card while the virtual card is free. “We take pride in constantly finding ways of providing innovative services that bring comfort and convenience to our customers. We urge Batswana to register for the MyZaka VISA card and experience convenience locally and internationally,” said Tumelo.
To apply for the card, customers need to provide a valid identity document, proof of income, proof of residence. Customers without formal employment and students can collect an affidavit from any Mascom shop and have it certified and provide it with their ID/passport to get the MyZaka Visa Card.
Mascom MyZaka mobile money was launched in 2011, as a convenient and secure way to send, receive, buy and pay using mobile phones. “To cater to the growing needs of our customers, Mascom’s MyZaka mobile money is introducing an exciting evolution to the service, the MyZaka Visa Card. The Card serves as a self-service platform that enables users to access their MyZaka wallet from anywhere in the world, at any time”. Meanwhile Myzaka Visa card offers similar services as Orange Money visa card, which was introduced in 2013.
