-New Exco to be elected for BOKA following the takedown of Bathai's leadership -Botswana Karate Association elects new leadership to guide them into the future

Following the toppling of the Tshepo Bathai led Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) Executive Committee, the time is nigh for the new committee of the association to be elected.

The association has over the years been embroiled by political scandals and the motion of no confidence pushed by the faction led by acting President Mpho Bakwadi, did not come as a surprise.

The association will this week host an elective congress with the interim committee coming to the end of their term.

Speaking in an interview this week, interim Publicity Secretary, Keorapetse Dube said the interim committee has achieved its set mandates during the four months period they were given.

However, there are doubts as to whether the meeting will form a quorum since several did not submit their membership compliances. Dube said they have only three members who haven't submitted. "We have a total of eight members in good standing, which is 16 including one club from each member. Karate No-michi led by Tshepho Bathai was suspended so even if 3 out of 8 didn't submit, they don't affect the qouram," he stressed.

The Executive Committee Candidates includes President Mpho Bakwadi, Vice President Administration Moemedi Nthaphelelang, Vice President Technical Union Kgafela, Secretary General Dick Othusitse Tshepang , Publicity

Secretary Keorapetse Dube, Treasure Kemmonye Seletamotse and Vice Secretary General, Francois Alberts.

The elections are scheduled for the 21st of January 2023. All of the above listed candidates are unopposed.
