The Botswana Dance Sport Association (BODANSA) has received a major sponsorship boost from the Okavango Diamond Company. The company has sponsored BODANSA with P136,000 for the upcoming Botswana International Dance Sport Grandprix Championships 2024. This sponsorship will help BODANSA host high-profile dance competitions that will attract international acts.

The inaugural Botswana International Dance Sport Grandprix Championships 2024 is anticipated to be a very exciting event and the first of its kind in Botswana and southern Africa, attracting both local and international athletes. The venue for the competition will be announced at a later date. The competition is expected to feature a variety of dance styles, including both traditional and modern forms. It is anticipated that countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Italy, Russia, Seychelles, and more, will be represented.

It is expected that the upcoming Botswana International Dance Sport Grandprix Championships 2024 will be used by BODANSA to select the national team. Additionally, competing athletes may use the competition to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for break dance. The competition will feature dance styles such as break dancing, polka, tsutsube, setapa, amapiano, hosanna, and more.

The Championships will also feature a variety of dance styles, including break dancing, Latin dancing, and ballroom dancing amongst others. The competition will further include events for athletes with disabilities. It is expected to be one of the biggest international dance competitions, and the association is working hard to make it a success.
