Nico United have denied that the club is linked to the rising young coach Wame 'Pepezino' Mokoke, who has been making strides in the elite league.Speaking in an interview this week, Nico United spokesperson Ntibi Kedikilwe said there is nothing linking them to the coach and as a results they have nothing to share. However, sources close to the club revealed that talks have been ongoing and it's very likely that the former Extension Gunners coach will pen a deal with the Selebi-Phikwe based outfit.“For a very long time the club had been eyeing the coach, talks are ongoing and it’s promising for both sides, Mokoke is willing to take up the job, he wants to coach in the elite league.”Nico United are currently above the relegation zone at position 11; they have so far collected 18 points from the 16 games they had played and are currently finding their feet in the elite league.Kedikilwe further said that their target is to survive relegation and anything more than that will be a bonus for Majombolo this season. “We are looking at surviving relegation, and making it into the top 8 will be a bonus for the team,” he said.On the other hand, Monametsi Kelebale has been doing a great job as the team coach and so far there is no revelation as to what will happen to him if Mokoke takes charge of the team.Although Kelebale has little experience coaching in the elite division, he has done a remarkable job with the crop of players at Nico and to some extent, taking him out of the picture might negatively impact the team.Majombolo this week travel to Dukwi SC Grounds to take on Dukwi Sporting Club in an Orange FA Cup fixture. Majombolo lost their previous game against Police XI and they will want to turn around their fortunes.
