Holy Ghost FC Head Coach, Reuben Njavera, a Zambian international, spoke with confidence after the draw against Orapa United. He stated that his team is aiming for a top 8 finish in the 2023-2024 Botswana Premier League. Njavera, who joined Holy Ghost FC last August, expressed his belief that the team's hard work will pay off and help them achieve their goal.

Njavera couldn't hide his joy after his team's stellar performance against Orapa United over the weekend at the National Stadium, where they drew 0-0. He said that the result gave them the confidence they needed to do well in their upcoming games. He is confident that they can finish in the top 8 of the league if they continue to improve and play well.

At the moment, Holy Ghost FC is sitting in 11th place on the league table after 13 matches. They have 14 points and are level with Orapa United, Masitaoka FC, and Police XI. The competition for the top 8 is going to be tough, as most of the teams in the middle of the table have drawn many of their games. This has resulted in a very small gap between the teams. However, Holy Ghost is confident that they can overcome the odds and finish in the top 8.

“Our ultimate goal for this season is to finish in the top 8. So, drawing against Orapa United was a good result for us, it's better than not collecting any points at all. We're in a good position to achieve our target, and we're moving in the right direction. We'll keep working hard to improve and reach our goal,” Njavera said.

When asked about his team's performance against Orapa United, the Head Coach said that they created a lot of goal scoring opportunities, but failed to convert them. He stated that their main problem has been scoring goals. He added that, after such a long break, getting a point was a bonus for the team and that their main goal going forward is to improve their position in the league.

“We'd like to thank the team for their effort. We could have won the game if we'd performed better in the first half. Orapa United gave us a tough match, but we're happy because we took away some positives from the game, especially in the second half. They came out stronger than us, but we're still proud of our performance,” he stated.
