-Our players are paid on time and live comfortably -Players' bonuses only due after tournament exit

Jwaneng Galaxy Football club has responded to allegations that they have failed to pay their players, labelling the accusations as false and defamatory. The club has said that it is shocking to hear such claims, especially as

they are currently focused on competing in the CAF Champions League.

The club has denied that it owes its players money or bonuses and has stressed its commitment to fair and ethical practices.

The allegations levelled against Jwaneng Galaxy claim that the club has not paid their players' bonuses earned for qualifying for the CAF Champions’ League group stages.

However, the club has strongly refuted these claims, calling them false and without merit.

Galaxy Public Relations Officer, Tankiso Morake clarified the situation, stating that the club does not owe their players bonuses and has not yet received any money from CAF for qualifying for the group stages. Morake refuted the allegations, explaining that their players are taken care of and that the claims are baseless.

“People need to understand how things work, we have not yet received any money from CAF for qualifying for the group stages. Money is only provided after all the games have been played, and we are only three games in. These false allegations are being made simply to damage our reputation. However, we are a club that puts the well-being of our players first,” Morake said.

In further clarification, Morake explained that the money in question is earmarked for CAF's own expenses, including any fees that the club is charged during the tournament. The remaining funds will be distributed to the club at the end of the group stage matches.

“Player remuneration is discretionary and can only be provided after the competition is over, we cannot give players bonuses in the middle of the tournament, as this could potentially impact the team's performance. The claims that we owe our players anything are unfounded, our players are paid on time and live comfortably. These allegations are simply not true,” he said.

Morake revealed that the team made a decision to give their players a bonus during their first group stage match against Waydad AC but it did not mean that same will happen with all games. What they did was a gesture of appreciation from the management team further emphasizing that the club always prioritizes the needs of its players.

Despite a disappointing 2-0 loss against Asec Mimosas in their last CAF Champions League match, Galaxy has had a promising start to the campaign. The team currently sits in second place with four points, having won their first match and drawn their second. Their next game will be away against Asec Mimosas on the 19th of December,
