Tlokweng Land Board received 110 transfer applications, six subdivision requests and 29 applications for Landlord consents in the change of use between August 2023 and November 2023.

Board Chairperson, Elijah Katse says remarkably, in its first sitting on November 27th, the board successfully addressed and resolved all the matters presented.

Katse, who has been re-appointed as Chairperson outlined their ambitious target of allocating 1 101 plots by the end of December 2023, contributing to the national goal of 100 000 plots. Currently, 786 residential plots have been allocated, with efforts underway to fulfil the remaining balance.

In terms of revenue collection, Katse disclosed that P796,747.79 had been collected against a target of P2, 214, 254.25, representing a 35.9 percent level of performance. To improve this, the Land Board has implemented various strategies, including house-to-house campaigns and telephonic engagements, urging those with outstanding debts to settle promptly.

Providing an update on the waiting list, the Chairperson noted that 57, 420 applications had been received since September 10, 2015, with 52, 291 applications already verified. The ongoing cleaning process aims to deal with multiple applications, deceased applicants, and other discrepancies, with completion expected by December 22, 2023.

Katse urged everyone to embrace a mind-set change, emphasising that positive outcomes require changes in thought patterns, feelings, and behaviours. The call to action resonated with the national goal of transforming into a high-income country by 2036.
