A three-year-old boy has allegedly been sexually assaulted by a 17-year-old neighbour.
The three-year old had been playing with the suspect’s five-year-old sister at the time, who later left for church, when the suspect allegedly took advantage of the situation and raped the minor.
On the day of the incident, the mother of the little boy did not find anything amiss, because her son regularly played with the five-year-old daughter of the neighbour.
However, when he returned home and asked his mother to wipe his buttocks, she was shocked. The mother noticed bloodstains, lacerations and mucus-like fluid on the boy's anal area.
Upon questioning, the boy disclosed that the neighbour’s 17-year-old had sexually assaulted him. The mother immediately took her son to Sefhare Primary Hospital for medical attention.
After examining the boy, the medical staff referred the case to the police. The case is being handled by Machaneng Police.
