The corpse of Keotshepile Naso Isaacs who was allegedly killed by husband Mompati Christopher Dodo Isaacs on New Year’s Day is expected to arrive in Botswana this month.
Naso, as Keotshepile was affectionately known, met her demise while residing in the United Kingdom with Dodo and their three children. The children are all under 14.
Speaking on behalf of the family on Tuesday, Mothusi Isaacs explained that they do not have full details of what could have gone wrong between the two. He said they are equally shocked since they never knew that the duo had marital issues.
“We are in the dark, Dodo’s mother resides in the United Kingdom and she is the one who informed the family back home of the happenings in UK. We do not have details but we hear that Dodo is in police custody,” Mothusi said.
He added that they have been hard at work raising funds for the repatriation of Naso’s body and they had managed to raise over P70 000 by this week. The money was raised through online platform, GoFundMe and contributions from Batswana, family and friends.
“We believe the money we currently have is enough for repatriation, what is being done now is processing of necessary documents, if all goes well, we should have her body in Botswana in a few weeks’ time,” Mothusi said.
The Isaacs said they have come together with the Okgethetsweng (Naso’s family) and have been working together peacefully despite the difficult circumstances they find themselves in.
According to several international media reports, at around 8.20am on Monday, January 1, police were called to a property in Craigleith Avenue, North Berwick, following a report of concern.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and pronounced Naso dead on the spot. Her husband Dodo was arrested the next day.
On Dodo's Facebook account, there is a post written on New Year's day, the day Naso died. On the post, a certain man is accused of breaking the Isaacs’ marriage.
"I give up, he finds my vulnerable wife and uses her simply because she opened up to her that we are having marital problems.
“My wife was so stressed out, Chukwuka should have asked to talk to me than have an affair with my wife," a part of the message reads.
At this point, it has not been verified if the post was made by Dodo or not.
