Obusitswe Mbwe was at Extension ll magistrate court in Gaborone this past Tuesday for allegedly killing his 19 year old son Lebogang Tlholego in Tlokweng this past weekend.

It is alleged that Mbwe after killing his son, locked the house and fled. An anonymous call was then made to the police informing them that there was an awful smell coming from a neighbour's house.

Upon arrival at the said house, the police forced open the door as it was locked.

The lifeless body of Tlholego was found by cops decomposed inside the house.

When questioned by the police, the neighbours indicated that the deceased was son to Mbwe and that the two lived together.

The police then asked for the father's contacts and to their shock, the number that had made an anonymous call to tell them about the awful smell coming from a neighbour's house was the same number that the neighbours said belonged to Mbwe.

That is how the police began searching for the deceased's father.

Moreover, it is alleged that the police found a note which read "this guy has been stealing my things to buy drugs and we fought on Saturday. On Sunday when I woke up I found him dead. I panicked and did not tell anyone. I've been staying with a dead body."

Mbwe has been remanded in custody and will be back in court for mention on the 27/07/2023.
