READY TO LEAD
Botswana Congress Party (BCP) is an organised movement that represents order in Botswana, and unlike other disorderly parties, can be trusted to lead, its President, Dumelang Saleshando, has said.
Saleshando urged people to be wise and vote for the BCP. He said that over 33 years ago there was a protest in Mogodishane over land problems of the area, and 33 years later the Mogoditshane Land Board is known as the most corrupt land board in Botswana.
Saleshando said that once the BCP is in power, they will have educated people who will lead the land boards and they will ensure that the issue of people not having land is a thing of the past.
He shunned the current land allocation system used by the government which comes with no services such as sewage system and roads.
“I have once lived in the area of Mogoditshane, and when we lived here we all knew that once it got dark no one would walk in the streets,” Saleshando said, adding that due to the high unemployment rate which has escalated from 18 percent to 24 percent under President Masisi’s tenure, some people have resorted to criminal activities.
He said the BCP will bring jobs, adding that it is pitiful that Israeli children and Indians have secure jobs due to the diamonds mined from Botswana whilst Batswana youth are unemployed in their mineral rich economy.
“Ga go Tautonege,” Saleshando said, adding that President Masisi is failing at his duties and an indicator of this is that he is a vindictive person hence he orchestrated the P100 billion charge against former president Ian Khama, even though the Bank of Botswana Governor said that the Bank has not had such monies under its care.
Saleshando said that there are many instances where Masisi’s administration was vindictive towards people even though the people had done no wrong. Saleshando said Masisi’s vindictive actions defame people and ruin their reputation.
He added that Masisi's vindictive actions extend also to the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), as he arrested Thapelo Matsheka even though he had done nothing wrong. He urged Batswana to vote for Julia Chepete as well as endorse him (Saleshando) as the next President of Botswana as he has the relevant experience to be trusted to lead unlike Masisi.
“I have never been entangled in corruption activities,” Saleshando said, adding that Masisi competes for the resources of the people with the people as he has done with Banyana farms.
He added that his eyes are fixed on becoming the next president of the nation and members of the BCP can make this happen by voting for the BCP councillors and parliamentary candidates.
Saleshando also launched the parliamentary candidate for Mogoditshane West, Julia Chepete. He said that through Chepete they intend to make history and send a woman representative from Mogoditshane to the parliament of Botswana.
Chepete herself said that in this day and age, Domkrag cannot meet the needs of, and adequately tend to Batswana.
She noted that the only thing that Domkrag is good at is making Batswana poor so that they look like they are doing something to address the poverty. She urged the people of Mogoditshane to be wise and vote for the BCP, as the party can properly address the issues of Mogoditshane.
