Debswana Diamond Company on Thursday this week hosted the Honourable Minister of Minerals and Energy, Bogolo Kenewendo, at its Jwaneng Mine as part of her ministerial onboarding programme.
The visit marked the Minister’s first official visit to Debswana since her appointment and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between the company and government in advancing Botswana’s minerals sector.
The Minister was hosted by Debswana Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Maatla Motsomi, accompanied by members of his Executive Committee. The engagement included among others a comprehensive tour of the Jwaneng Mine — the world’s richest diamond mine by value — as well as strategic updates on Debswana’s operations, socio-economic develoment, sustainability efforts, and future growth plans.
