Crossover Jazz Group WDP and Contemporary rock group, Plan B impressed the audience this past weekend with their outstanding performances at Botswana Craft Courtyard.

It was a rare occasion where the fusion of jazz and rock genres undoubtedly left the audience in awe. Other than just showcasing the brilliance of WDP and Plan B, the event was also meant to celebrate the success of past collaborations with local artists, such as Obizzy otherwise known as Obakeng Kokwe, a producer and lyricist who seamlessly blends jazz and Motswako. Music enthusiasts agreed that the event was an amazing experience filled with versatility as both WDP and Plan B delivered a captivating and dynamic performance.

Organizer of the event, Leeroy of WDP told Vibe that collaboration between WDP and Plan B was actually set to bring a refreshing twist to Gaborone's live music scene, with the fusion of jazz and rock, creating an exhilarating and energetic atmosphere. He emphasized that this particular collaboration was the first of its kind.

“This particular collaboration is a first, we just thought outside the box to bring together Jazz and Rock music in a way that has never been presented before on our stage,” explained Leeroy. He further said that the WDP and Plan B Concert is the third event to take place within the 2023.

“WDP has 15 musical events and in-house events,” shared Leeroy. He further reiterated that Jazz brings its improvisational and soulful elements, while rock adds its powerful energy.
