Moitshepi decisive about enrolling

Moitshepi Mokaila, an incredibly talented Motswana fashion designer has been accepted into the Parsons Design School in New York. Mokaila is the brains behind the revolutionary Indecisive. But what is standing between the Fashion Designer, Stylist, as well as Creative Director and this lifetime opportunity is that the school granted her a partial scholarship, and she has been running around trying to secure the other half of the funds needed to finally sit and learn from some of the best in the Fashion industry.Desperate and running out of options, the schools is opening on August 28th, but has been given until September 10th to be in class, otherwise, she will forfeit that scholarship. This is why, she has created a GoFundMe campaign, and remains hopeful that some good Samaritans, or the powers that be will heed her desperate cries and come to her aid. On her campaign Video, Mokaila shares that she considers the school to be the Harvard of Fashion Design. "As amazing as this opportunity is, this school is expensive, and this is where I need assistance.And I am trying to put together the funds to get me there." She explains that since she received the offer, she has been knocking on every possible door she can think of both locally and internationally. “And unfortunately, it has not yielded the results I was hoping for, which is why I am here,” she says. She further notes that while the GoFundMe concept might seem like a foreign concept to Batswana, this is one of the ways that she is hoping that someone will heed her call. According to Mokaila, Parsons as the Harvard of Fashion Design is the next visible step to propelling her career on to the next level. “I will be exposed to industry creatives and notable fashion designers in the creative field internationally, which I believe will be the bridge between being a designer from Botswana, and gain traction into the international space,” she points out.She further says that she wants to take advantage of this opportunity not only for herself, but for her family and country. “And in that, hopefully, bridge the gap between the existing international creative industry and the developing one that we have here,” says Mokaila. She further says that she strongly stands by the expression, 'Motho ke motho ka batho (no man is an island)', and that the possibilities are endless. “I believe that this dream could be made possible with your assistance,” she says.She also adds that her brand is all about one being unapologetically who they are, and that she stands by this. “My intent is to always spread love and light through my expressive and vibrant clothing,” she adds.
