Through their vision, Resego Kgosidintsi and Charity Legase have created SHEVOLUTION, a women’s empowerment movement designed to help women evolve into the best versions of themselves while staying grounded in their identities. Scheduled for August 29, 2026, in Gaborone, SHEVOLUTION is expected to bring together about 400 women from diverse backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, professionals, students, executives, mothers, creatives and community leaders.

Its founders insist the initiative is much more than a brunch. It is a movement. Guided by the symbolism of flowers and a philosophy of intentional growth, SHEVOLUTION presents what its founders describe as a “gentle women’s revolt” a peaceful challenge to self doubt, limiting beliefs and barriers that prevent many women from reaching their full potential. Kgosidintsi and Legase says the inspiration came from recognising that while Botswana has made progress in advancing opportunities for women, many still lack access to meaningful mentorship, leadership opportunities, financial empowerment and supportive networks.44

“SHEVOLUTION was born from the realization that women need spaces where they can be seen, heard, supported and empowered holistically,” said Kgosidintsi. “There are many conversations around women’s empowerment, but we wanted to create something intentional; a platform that celebrates the whole woman, her ambitions, challenges, wellness, leadership journey and potential.” Rather than focusing on confrontation, SHEVOLUTION embraces transformation.

It encourages women to challenge internal barriers, embrace healing, build meaningful connections and lead authentically. “It is a revolt of courage, self belief and collective progress,” explained Kgosidintsi. “True change does not always happen through loud protests. Sometimes it happens when women are given opportunities to learn, connect, support one another and step confidently into their purpose.” Attendees will engage in conversations around leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, technology, financial independence, wellness, emotional intelligence, motherhood, personal branding and creative expression. The event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, networking sessions and creative performances designed to encourage personal reflection and professional growth.

According to the founders, the broad range of topics reflects a reality; women do not live single dimensional lives. A woman may simultaneously be navigating a career, raising children, managing a business, caring for family members and pursuing personal growth. As such, SHEVOLUTION adopts a holistic approach to empowerment. “Leadership without wellness is unsustainable. Financial independence without confidence is limiting. Professional success without fulfilment can feel incomplete,” Kgosidintsi said. “We wanted to create conversations that reflect the realities women face every day.”

One of the most distinctive aspects of SHEVOLUTION is its use of flowers as its central symbol. Far from being merely decorative, flowers represent growth, resilience and transformation. Every flower blooms differently and at its own pace. The founders believe the same is true of women. Some discover their purpose early in life while others flourish later. Regardless of timing, every woman has the potential to grow when nurtured in the right environment. This philosophy will be reflected throughout the event space, which organisers describe as a “garden of becoming”, an immersive experience designed to inspire calm, connection and self discovery. Interactive installations, affirmation walls, floral experiences, networking opportunities and creative performances will contribute to the atmosphere. At the heart of the experience will be storytelling.

The founders believe transformation often begins when women share their journeys openly and honestly. “When women share their struggles, failures, victories and lessons, they create spaces where others realise they are not alone,” Kgosidintsi said. “Vulnerability builds trust, and authentic stories inspire action because they show that success is not always a straight path.” The organisers hope the gathering will create an ecosystem of mentorship, collaboration and opportunity. Connections formed during the event could lead to business partnerships, career advancement, leadership opportunities, community initiatives and lifelong friendships.

Founders envision SHEVOLUTION becoming one of Botswana’s leading platforms for women’s development and social impact. Future plans include mentorship programmes, leadership forums, entrepreneurship initiatives, community outreach projects, advocacy campaigns and skills development workshops throughout the year.Z
