All-female 'Heels On Wheels' motorsport club proves speed and social impact go together
They call themselves the GTI Girls. But don't let the name fool you into thinking it's only about hot hatches and lap times.
Inside the growing community of Girls Socialites "Heels On Wheels" the members have embraced "GTI Girls" as their badge of belonging. It's a nod to performance heritage, tight-knit crew culture, and a shared love for the thrill of the drive. Yet, three years after the club's founding in January 2023, these women are known as much for their charity work as their car meets.
"We're GTI Girls at heart. quick, bold, and built for more than just the straight line," said Michelle mokotedi, club representative. "But when the engines cool, we're still moving. We move for each other, and we move for the community."
The club operates on four core pillars, creating a barrier-breaking space for women in motorsport, celebrating genuine passion for cars (from engineering to aesthetics), giving back to vulnerable groups through regular acts of compassion, and lifting every member higher together.
Since forming, the GTI Girls have organized food and clothing drives, mentored young women interested in automotive trades, and partnered with local shelters, all while showing up in force at track days and car shows across the region.
"We don't have millions," Mokotedi added. "But we have wheels, we have will, and we have each other. That's more than enough to start changing things."
What began as a small circle of female drivers now hums with momentum. The GTI Girls are still wearing heels, still chasing horizons and making sure their community comes along for the ride.
