The search to find the Miss Botswana queen 2023 has started. The reigning Miss Botswana, Palesa Molefe will officially hand over the crown to the new queen in the coming months. Organisers are now looking for the aspiring young women who will make the cut into the Top 30 selection process of the pageant.

Online registration forms are available on the website; www.missbotswana.co.bw and more information can be found on the Miss Botswana 2022 Facebook page. Entries for the Miss Botswana 2022 will close on July 28th. Registration fee is P250. It is on the page that entrants can find detailed information on what the requirements are for one to be eligible to participate.

The page also shares tips for those who wish to embark on the journey, particularly the emphasis on the importance of the Beauty with a Purpose Project. In a press release, they have shared that there was a lot of thought that went into designing the registration form, making it easily accessible and navigation friendly.

Even more, aspiring entrants do not have to worry about data costs, as they do not need data to get into the platform, fill it in and attach additional pictures and proof of payment. Organizers hope to get entries coming in from far and wide as they utilize the added advantage of technology this year and moving forward.

Meanwhile, while young Batswana women are gearing up for the big pageant, organizers have unveiled the panel that will be responsible for picking the Top 30.

The Individuals, says the press release, are all captains of the industry in their respective fields. The panel is made up of Dr Mpho Kuaho (who is no stranger to the fashion industry), Imaan Kader (Head of Marketing for Options), Tonderai Tsara (the co-founder of The Dialogue Group), Tamati Ramatlhakwane (Botswana Council of Women Representative), Sharon Mathala (Senior reporter at the Voice Newspaper), Lorato Lala Tebogo (Social entrepreneur and former Miss Botswana of 2005), Malebogo Sesinyi (Brand & Communications Manager at Mascom Wireless), as well as Michael O'Keeffe (Former Botswana National Team, Rugby player).

“Along with the public, these industry captains will unearth the potential diamond who is to be Miss Botswana 2022. At different stages, the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite candidates to place in the next level through unique SMS codes that will be assigned to each of the ladies,” explains the press release. Furthermore, the organizers have disclosed that they are very cognizant of the importance of including the public in the Miss Botswana journey, as public support plays a huge role in the confidence individual ladies carry throughout the competition.
