Book lovers in for a productive book workshop

Book lovers will be treated to a workshop dubbed ‘All Things Books’ scheduled for 28th March 2026 from 0830hrs - 1230hrs at Stanbic Bank Incubator (Fairgrounds Mall).This workshop is organized and curated by Poeticblood Publishers under the leadership of Dr Lame Pusetso. She told this publication that, the workshop was inspired by the recurring gaps observed in the literary space, particularly around authors’ rights, copyright, ISBN registration, royalties, grants, and market access."Many writers publish books without fully understanding how to protect their work or benefit from it to the maximum" said Dr Pusetso. She noted that, the workshop was exclusively created to bridge that gap and empower authors with knowledge that strengthens both their craft and careers. The organisers wish to leave the attendees with a clearer understanding of their rights as authors, practical knowledge on copyright, ISBN registration, royalties, grants, and procurement."It is our aim to instill author's with confidence to navigate the publishing and literary industry more professionally" said Dr Pusetso in an interview. The workshop is targeted at published authors, aspiring authors, writers and poets, self-published creatives, students pursuing writing or creative fields, publishers and literary practitioners. All Things Books is being introduced as a pilot workshop. Based on the response, impact, and needs of the literary community, the intention is to develop it into a recurring platform, potentially held annually or quarterly, with evolving themes that respond to the realities of the literary industry."As Publishers working closely with authors, we realized there was a strong need for a space where writers could receive accurate, practical, and institution-led information directly from key stakeholders within the literary ecosystem" explained Dr Pusetso. This first edition sets the foundation for what we hope will become a sustainable knowledge-sharing space for authors and literary stakeholders,” Dr Pusetso said.
