Winner walks away with a brand new Haval Jolion

Botswana will make a debut appearance at the annual international beauty pageant, Miss Supranational Botswana run by the World Beauty Association.

Licence holders early this year embarked on a national search around the country through open auditions. They have been to Kasane, Maun, Gantsi, Kang, Kgalagadi, Palapye, Selibe Phikwe, Francistown, Jwaneng and Gaborone, in their effort to select the top 30. Last week, they announced the top 30.

Spokesperson at Miss Supranational Botswana, Kaone Moremong explained that the duties of Miss Supranational is to work for charitable causes, as well as travelling the world promoting tourism and goodwill among all nations. She is relieved that they have finally found their top 30, which means the competition has now officially started.

"The 30 queens will undergo a series of trainings and workshops to prepare them for the next stages of the pageant," explained Moremong. She further explained that the ladies will be shortlisted to 12 after a talent show to be hosted on March 24th.

Some of the core entitlements of the pageant include; travelling the world to promote tourism, and goodwill among all nations. Moremong is convinced that the winning queen would be able to represent the country accordingly, as Botswana is rated as one of the best tourism destination.

"Our observation is just that Botswana is beautiful and has may beautiful women. We are glad that our job of hunting for the best candidate was done," she said, further adding that they are aiming for the crown.

A few faces from other various well known pageants have been spotted in the top 30, and already people have started supporting their favourite contestants. Vibe has noted that participation of the reigning queen Miss Teen

Junior Idol World, Tia Lekgowa who represented the country in Thailand early this year.

She is excited to have made it to the top 30 of Miss Supranational. She told Vibe that winning this pageant could be a life changing moment for her. Cythia Kalayakgosi, Miss Botswana 2022/2023 finalist has also made the cut. For her, it is an honour and privilege to be selected in top 30 and she hopes for the best.

Miss Supranational winner is expected to walk away with a Haval Jolion brand new car. She will also be entitled to a house in Gaborone for the period of her reign, a premium gym, wardrobe worth P50 000, makeup artist at her disposal, and will have a management team to assist her during her reign. In addition she will have all her bills taken care of and will receive a monthly allowance of P3500 to allow her to carry out her business as a queen.

The reigning Miss Supranational is Lalela Mswane from South Africa.
