Trimline Projects, the diversified construction and supplies company, has won over the hearts of many customers over the years, largely because of its competitive edge that centres, among others, on cost effectiveness and satisfaction.
The company, which was formed way back in 2009, offers transport and logistics inclusive of refrigerated trucks, sewage collection, mobile rental toilets and transport equipment and accessories. According to a company statement, the Molepolole-based firm also deals with construction and maintenance such as building construction and maintenance, electrical, civil and mechanical engineering maintenance, water engineering works among others.
The company has not put its eggs on one basket. From inception, Trimline has always been mindful of the fact that diversity is key sustainability and tenacity. This explains why they also provide supplies and services across the board for general supplies, food supplies, cleaning services, gardening and landscaping, print media related equipment and finally electrical, electronic, mechanical, fire and ICT supplies. “Trimline prides itself on good relationships with customers, customer focus and satisfaction, possession of good skill, highly trained staff and very cost effective to cater for an average Motswana seeking service,” said the company.
The diverse clientele which they have worked with clearly shows the company is settled in the various sectors it operates in. Trimline has done services for government’s electoral body-Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Letlhakeng District Council, Nafprof, Molepolole College of Education (MCE), Molepolole Institute of Health Science (HIS), Ministry of Youth and Culture - Molepolole, to name but a few.
Botswana government has vowed to support 100 percent citizen companies, especially those owned by youth such as Trimline Projects. “Trimline has provided services for government institutions and bids will continue to be made amid availability of government tenders,” said the company which is based in Molepolole, west of Gaborone.
Trimline Projects, which has in the past engaged in numerous CSR projects, has created 10 permanent jobs, in addition to a number of temporary employees who are engaged on projects basis. “We have in the past hired 45 temporary employees as we are in support of government initiatives to create employment,” stated the company.
Strategic partnerships are key to any business sustainability and profitability. Trimline is well aware of this, and it is taking the necessary, but calculated steps. “On an ongoing basis, we discuss the future possibility of partnering with other companies providing the same services in order to boost our growth as we believe that you can never have enough knowledge and also, we will be looking into the introduction of new services that the company would like to offer,” said the company which also does sanitation services.
Any business has its own challenges. Trimline has experienced challenges like financial constraints, high maintenance costs and transportation to far places in the country. Recently, the company donated mobile toilets to be used for three days at the recent mass burial of Molepolole victims who died in a bus crash in Mmamatlakala, South Africa.
In the medium to long term plan, the company will, after careful consideration, open some offices in some other parts of the country. For now, the company has offices in Tshane, Serinane, Paje, in addition to the head office which is in Molepolole.
