Emergency Assist 991, the leading emergency assistance company this week played host to Rwanda National Police (RNP) on a benchmarking tour which was meant to assess the Standard of the institution’s (EA991) highly regarded Driver Training Academy.
Emergency Assist 991, which this year celebrates 21 years of existence, has welcomed the Rwandan National Police visit, stating the gesture shows vote of confidence on their part. “The aim of the benchmarking exercise was to establish the process for ensuring compliance to Driving Schools and Instructors Regulations and the resources required to meet the set standards,” stated Emergency Assist 991 which is led by Chief Executive Officer, Chiseki Chiseki. ‘Our institution was selected among many, a clear indication of our unwavering effort to ensure legal compliance as well as providing the best quality service, and best of all, facilitating the graduation of highly competent drivers on our roads to address Botswana’s road safety challenges’
The Rwanda National Police delegation was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Steven Rukumba, who was accompanied by Senior Officials from Department of Road Transport Services of Rwanda, one of the Africa’s fastest growing country. The visit by the Rwanda National Police on the 15th of May 2024, comes at a time when there are interesting developments within the Emergency Assist 991 driving academy.
Chiseki last month told this publication that plans are underway for the company to launch a first of its kind partnership with local driving schools’ operators, through their well-known Driver Training Academy. According to Chiseki, the company will partner with these schools to offer services to their (Emergency Assist 991) current clientele under the franchisee model. “This will go a long way in empowering these driving schools especially when it comes to modernising them (driving schools),” stated Chiseki.
The company plans to have launched its first franchisee before 2024. The EA991 Driving Academy, based in Gaborone has been operating since 2020. The Academy offers customers the opportunity to learn how to safely drive motor vehicles within a professional environment, with learning facilitated by certified and highly qualified Driver Trainers in accordance with the Botswana Driving Schools and Driving Instructors Regulations.
