Mascom has partnered with Q-KON Africa to offer the Twoobii Smart Satellite connectivity service to the Botswana market and intends to target previously unserved and underserved customers that operate businesses and reside in areas where high quality connectivity has previously been limited.

The recent innovations and developments in the global satellite industry have allowed the technology, performance, and price advantages of the Twoobii service to enable Mascom to effectively service the agriculture, mining, hospitality and financial sectors. The new Mascom satellite service will be seamlessly integrated with the existing Mascom core network to provide customers the benefit of voice, data and broadband services, all underwritten by the credible and trusted Mascom brand.

The Mascom satellite service includes end user benefits such as content-aware billing and advanced quality of service algorithms to support real time voice and video calls. Specifically developed to meet the high security requirements such as that of the financial sector, the Mascom satellite service offering is ideal for always-on connectivity for ATMs, bank branch back-up, retail Point-of-Sale devices as well as hospitality Wi-Fi.

The partnership includes full turn-key delivery of services throughout Botswana, and customers can look forward to frictionless, one-stop-shop service for user terminal installations, on-site hardware support and ongoing customer service. The service has local service partners throughout Botswana who will ensure that we deliver trusted connectivity for customers in even the most remote locations.

“Our partnership with Twoobii satellite service from Q-KON Africa will allow us to bring the full benefits of Smart Satellite Services to enterprises operating in “off-grid” or remote locations,” commented Shimboy Kgosiemang, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Mascom. “We already reach 95% of Botswana’s enterprises with our existing telecoms offering; the Twoobii satellite service is the last piece of the puzzle which will help us get closer to 100% mark and make sure no Motswana is left behind in the digital era,” he added. “We’re delighted to partner with Mascom – Botswana’s leader in the provision of communications services,” commented Dr Dawie de Wet, Group CEO of Q-KON Africa. “Mascom has built a reputation as an innovative Telco with a genuine focus on customer service, so we can be certain that our two companies will be able to collaborate seamlessly as we expand this Smart Satellite Service offering in Botswana and beyond,” he added.
