Funeral Services Group Limited and Hollard Botswana, titans in the funeral services and insurance sector respectively, have joined hands and launched historic partnership which aims "to create a seamless experience that alleviates the burden on families during their times of grief." Teams of experts from both FSG and Hollard Botswana have worked together to craft first of its kind funeral products that provide peace of mind for their clients. “Over the last two years, inflation has caused a significant rise in prices of all commodities, goods, and services. This has eroded the benefit value of funeral products and services.

Therefore, FSG and Hollard Life undertook a holistic review of our product offering so that an affordable and dignified funeral can be afforded to families,” said Head of Sales, Tebogo Moribame-Setiko at the launch this week. The enhanced funeral insurance products offer increased benefits at a minimal increase in premiums. Some of the enhanced benefits include but not limited to, increase in total value of funeral benefits, including cash, benefit of Premium Waiver, where the principal member passes on, 10% No claim bonus, being 10% of premiums paid as Cash Back on all policies without a claim for 5 years, among others. Age of entry for policy holders has been reduced from 21 years to 18 years.

“Waiting period for claims has now been reduced from 6 months to 3 months for natural death, and 12 months for suicide from 24 months, and no waiting period for accidental death,” said the two companies. Said Hollard Life Botswana MD, Tabuya Tau, “As Hollard, we have built our reputation around passion and commitment to creating lasting, relevant partnerships. Hollard’s purpose is to enable more people to create and secure a better future, by achieving exceptional, sustainable, and inclusive growth and by treating everyone with care and dignity.

Our partnership with FSG is testament to that. Our team of experts collaborated and worked tirelessly to design comprehensive and customisable funeral plans that provide peace of mind for all our clients.” This partnership is an important step towards expanding sustainable financial inclusion for all, and enrolment in the insurance policies is the beginning of a journey that gives protection and that generates tangible value for our policy holders and their dependents. Concluded Tau: “We recognise that life is not just about the days we spend planning and securing our future. It is also about cherishing the memories and celebrating the lives of those who have left us.

That is why we have integrated insurance and funeral parlour services, allowing us to provide holistic support during difficult times.”
