The next edition of Africa’s Travel Indaba is scheduled for May 14th to 16th 2024 at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban under the theme “Unlimited Africa”.

During the media launch earlier this week, South African Deputy Minister of Tourism, Fish Mahlalela, expressed both excitement and enthusiasm ahead of the event, stating that: "This renowned trade show is a beacon for the global tourism community, poised to unite thousands of industry stakeholders, from exhibitors representing diverse African nations to buyers hailing from every corner of the world.” The event showcases Africa's myriad tourism offerings and catalyzes economic growth across the continent, said the minister.

He emphasized the event's focus on capacity building and knowledge exchange, transcending mere business transactions to empower both established players and emerging businesses alike.

Africa’s Travel Indaba 2024 promises a wealth of opportunities for delegates, featuring tailored networking sessions, illuminating panel discussions, and dynamic marketing showcases, spotlighting the latest tourism innovations.

The event's sold-out floor space and participation from twenty-six African countries underscore its status as a premier Pan African showcase.

Moreover, the inclusion of 120 SMMEs at the Hidden Gems zone, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, highlights a commitment to nurturing grassroots entrepreneurship within the industry.

During the same occasion, Siboniso Duma, MEC Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, underscored KwaZulu-Natal's readiness to host Africa's Travel Indaba 2024, citing the province's robust accommodation infrastructure and economic impact.

For his part, Councillor Thembo Ntuli highlighted Durban's integral role in the tourism landscape, with local businesses poised to capitalise on the influx of visitors. He states, "Indaba represents more than just a trade show—it's a catalyst for economic revitalization."

Lindiwe Rakherebe, CEO of the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre, affirms the venue's commitment to ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all participants, cementing Africa's Travel Indaba 2024 as a cornerstone of the global tourism calendar.
