MADISON hosts cocktail launch at new Game City store

On Friday evening, the media and some recognisable faces from the fashion industry were hosted to a cocktail launch event at the recently opened MADISON- The Heart of New York store. The store, located at the new Game City shopping complex wing, is a welcome development that promises to add diversity to the already growing retail market in the city.

MADISON, which is famous for being bold and not afraid to create breathtaking pieces in all colours under the rainbow, is renowned for its stylish and trending shoe styles. Narrating their journey during the event, the man behind the Gaborone store, Calvin Nthekeng explained that he and his wife, Rita started their company UNIQUE BUILDERS Pty (LTD) in 2008, a year after they met. He said that the intention was to use the company to construct their house in Block 8. They managed to build the house, but it was not until 2011, after he quit a highly paying job that they embarked on running a family business, something that was not an easy feat in the beginning.

One of their projects is CROCS, which is located at Riverwalk. He noted that with the addition of Madison, they also look forward to expanding their business to other locations in the city such as Rail Park, Airport Junction and CBD as soon as they get spaces. “We intend to expand the product offering to include men’s range, bags and accessories in the second half of 2017,” he said.

Nthekeng noted that customers would find a pair of shoes for any occasion, whether a bridal party, date or wedding, at MADISON.  “Or maybe you are just looking for an everyday 8 to 5 shoe. Ladies we have it all here for you,” he said.

He further explained that MADISON is an International Franchise store that is opening for the first time here in Botswana and at Game City. “We are a fashion brand that is not shy to offer our customers Stylish and colourful shoes that are ahead of the pack
