Grand Palm wedding expo impressive
The Grand Palm’s fifth annual wedding expo that took place last weekend impressed multitudes who poured in to witness the beautiful event that ended with an exquisite fashion show.
Revelers explored wedding packages that included; variety of gowns, cutlery, décor and photography in the 22 stalls that were on exhibition. Some couples that are engaged to be married took advantage of the event to get ideas for their upcoming weddings, while some people just came to see what local talent offered.
It was a one-stop shop for many and especially for one lady who came all the way from Francistown to see what the expo had in store for her. She is preparing for her wedding and she could not hide her apparent satisfaction. “Batswana are so creative and open minded and through this wedding expo I am now convinced that I should get my wedding gown locally than buy online or across boarders like I had planned before. What I have seen is absolute talent and I am amazingly satisfied with Kalahari Bridal wedding gowns. Their dresses are quiet amazing just as much as other fashion designers present here,” she said.
Fashion designers that participated in the night’s glamorous fashion show included; Chawada July, Explosion Designs by Samantha Peter and Boineelo Palai.
Complex Guest Relations Officer of Grand Palm, Katlego Mogorosi explained their wedding as a one-shop-stop that aims at introducing people to a variety of wedding packages under one roof.
“We are the venue of choice for weddings and we want people to see the venue while we also introduce them to our wedding packages,” she said, adding that they want people to meet a variety of leading wedding professionals through this expo as they advocate for the perfect wedding celebrations. She highlighted that the wedding expo has grown bigger and better and they were impressed by the good turn up despite the fact that there was yet another wedding expo in Phakalane.
The feedback from attendants was positive, according to her.
Mogorosi further stated that they have an online competition in which they are sponsoring a wedding worth P100 000. This is to appreciate people and shower them with a dream wedding, she says.
The competition found on The Grand Palm facebook page is composed of a wedding package that includes; venue, food, welcome drink, PA System, Dance floor, Honeymoon suite, wedding dress, invitations, makeup, photography, décor, flowers and spa treatment and it caters for 100 guests.
The fashion show was highlighted by the artistic performance of Afro-pop artist, Lizibo who kept the crowd entertained all the night. To suit the occasion, he was clad in a dazzling blazer that reminded everyone that the event was wedding-based. The audience did not disappoint as well.
Master of the ceremonies, Tumisang Mothei looked fine in his shorts and a golf cap.
